The Maryland Youth Development League (MYDL) is dedicated to providing a positive and enriching basketball experience for children grades 4th thru 8th. Our league focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, and holistic growth, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and respect. Through age-appropriate divisions, regular games, and structured practices, MYDL creates a supportive environment where players can thrive. Community engagement, safety measures, partnerships, and continuous evaluation ensure that MYDL is a sustainable and impactful platform for youth basketball development.
Summer League 2026 Information
Tryout Date: June 29, 2026 || 6PM-9PM

Registration Fee:
$150 per player / $300 per team

8 regular season games, 1 playoff game, and championship game for final 2 teams.

Player Evaluations
(Try Outs)
Evaluations will take place at Kingsford Elementary, Saturday June 27th from 11am - 2pm. After evaluations coaches will select players for their teams via a draft night. Players will be asked to arrive dressed to impressed, to be drafted to the team they are selected to. After the draft process the season will begin with team practices scheduled the same week.
Games and Practices
All players will play 8 regular season games, at least 1 playoff game, 1 All-Star game, and the top 2 teams will play in the MYDL championship game.
All players will be allocated to a team after player evaluations. Teams will have no more than 10 players to ensure adequate gameplay for each player. All players will make an All Star team. Players will have access to our virtual training videos for players to practice while at home.
All Star Games
Who’s ready for All Star weekend! Players will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of games that will include parents and coaching staff. All players will be allocated to an All Star team.
The end of season award ceremony will take place at the conclusion of the season. Players will be celebrated and recognized for their effort and participation throughout the season. Individual superlative awards will be given to the stand out players of each team as well.
2026 DIVISIONS
Juniors: 4th grade - 6th grade
Seniors: 6th grade - 8th grade
